Where is the Lord

Where are those fields,
where mirth does dwell?
Where toil promises yield,
and fruits cast their spell?

Where are those seas,
whose pearls have lost their shells?
What more pure an expectation can be,
whose brilliance has sought to excel?

Where are those skies,
who have made raptures swell?
When gloom dissolves in misty eyes
and the ears hear a distant bell?

The sun, the moon, the stars,
All creatures great and small,
Where is their Lord for them to see?
How long all have to wait and plea?

Life is too short for hue and cry,
Though wings to soar are hard to try,
and the run is distant if you're hung to a tree,
Express your prayers and let what is to be!

Who knows,
Some day, somewhere, someone,
May be near to come and see,
The joy to behold and fun to feel,
The fields, the seas, the skies,
All blessed for rejoice and glee..
